Kleine Portraets
2014 / Wasserfarbe auf Baumwollfetzen
Ich habe alte fotografische Porträts im Antikshop gefunden und habe diese auf kleine Baumwollfetzen mit Wasserfarbe gemalt.Obwohl die Fotos wurden für Erinnerungen fotografiert, wurden sie von ihren Inhabern weggeworfen. In meinen Bildern hole ich die Vergänglichkeit zurück in die Gegenwart.

Little Portraits

From antique shops, I collected many old photographs. I used them as models copying the portraits on small pieces of white cloth. The new portraits are produced in delicate watercolor washes. I see these washes as the stains of time.

Eines sonnigen Tages, ich bin im Park spazieren gegangen. Frühlingshafter Wind verfing sich in den Baumkronen. Ich habe den Wind gesehen und gezeichnet. Auf kleine geschnittene durchsichtige Stoffe (Organza-Seide) habe ich mit Wasserfarbe gezeichnet und die Stoffstreifen zusammen genäht.

In einem kleinen Zimmer habe ich einen Ring goldener Perlen aus der Decke angehängt. Eine goldene Perle heißt ein Leben und der Ring ist die Welt. Eine einzelne Perle kann nicht überleben. Viele miteinander verbundene Perlen bilden ein Band des Leben.

From my room, overlooking a village in a forest, I could see the many elements of life there. I made a thread of beads floating above the floor, like a line that ties everything together.

Geisterschiff

Ich habe die Muscheln in einem Zimmer eines alten Hauses aufgehangen. In Japan gibt es eine Sitte. Die Geister der Toten kommen nach vier Tagen wieder zurück nach Hause. Am letzten Tag gibt es eine Abschiedsfeier für dir Geister des Meeres. Mit meinen Muscheln mache ich die unsichtbaren Geister sichtbar.

A boat for the soul

In the guest room of big empty house. I hung many shells with strings from ceiling and expressed that boats were swinging in the sea as if they invited us to another place. Boats were necessarily for people of island to connect with other places. There is a traditional Buddhism event. They honor and send their ancestor’s spirit to another place by boat. So, I thought that small shells, which I gathered with residencies, might connect visitors each other.

I had spent a month in the depopulation village. I exhibited various small things(old wings of insects, animal hair, parts of dry grass, etc.) in the old storage which I gathered by walking around. They might be with someone’s past lives. pieces of their memories. And I drew on the table as my remain of the day.

The remains of small virtues
2011
I exhibited drawings and fairy lights in a small room of the old police station, which was built 90 years ago. I imagined and drew about animal bone, dust and outside view from the small room. Fairy light was attaching by dry cell and disappear meaning the time of passage and end.
